Monster defense maintaines clean sheet...

Thanks to a mighty and invincible defense and a goal by Franco and Johnathan Coelho GHS cruised to their 4th straight shutout.
Even more credit should be given to Derek Ward as he superbly stopped a penalty-kick.

The game started with the typical GHS offense, Cristian Valdez nearly made it into the back of the net off a corner, Michael Ward had 4 shots in the 1st half only.
Franco would score the first goal of the game after a beautiful pass by Jonny Starns, after taking on one defender he slotted the ball between keeper and post.
Johnathan Coelho would also add his name to the sheet after another well done pass by Andrew Turner, the ball was passed between two defenders to the feet of Coelho who shot it passed the keeper.
The defense let nothing by as the frustrated opponents lost patience, several times it seemed as if they had a chance but the fleeting figure of Ryan Payne was seen coming to the rescue.
The second half had its chances, Jonah Dew almost converted Cristians corner into a goal and Valdez had a shot from 22 yds out that the keeper caught with difficulty. Franco hit the bar but no one was found on the rebound to finish.
GHS will face an easy match on Tuesday against Oconee.
